We take your oven a part

How long will it take to clean my oven? is a question I get asked a lot and there is no real accurate straight forward answer because it depends on the type of oven, what has been cooked in the oven, how long it has been since the last clean and the size of the oven.

  • Types of different ovens
    Smeg ovens can be slightly more complex to take apart, especially the doors this adds time and the technician needs to take extra care when taking the doors apart to clean inside.
    Other ovens have patterns and moulds inside which increases the time to clean.
    Modern ovens tend to come apart easily with fewer patterns and moulds
  • What has been cooked in the oven
    Fatty food that tends to spit more such as Lamb and Pork will speed up the build up within the oven and any unfortunate spillages that will burn and carbonise making the cleaning process a little harder and take more time to clean
  • How long its been since the last oven clean
    The time between cleans is key to the amount of build up inside the oven, the longer left the more build up the longer the clean will take, more elbow grease required. We recommend getting your oven cleaned between every 6 to 9 months.
  • Oven Size
    Single oven tends to take up to 1.5 hours to clean
    Double oven can take up to 2 hours to clean
    Range and Agas will take between 3 to 4 hours
    These times vary depending on points above
  • Hob and Extractors
    We also clean hobs and extractors each one should take 30 minutes, but this timing is variable
    – Extractors depend on the build-up of grease and the number of filters
    – Hob depends on how long between cleans and the type of hob, stainless steel take longer than ceramic hobs as our technicians need to be super careful not the scratch your job.
  • Barbeques
